Good evening students and parents, first I want to say that I am so proud of the 2020 Crimson Star Band for a very good band camp thus far. The marching looks clean and sharp and the music is coming along nicely! We will record what we have done so far this Friday and upload it to the website for a virtual sneak peak of the show!
In other news, please don't forget that the express card fundraiser is still going on and they are due no later than this Friday! All money you earn will be put towards your fees!
Please remember as well, that your 1st payment of band fees are due this Friday! Please refer to your financial agreement form for the amount you owe, and for any further questions, please contact our treasurers at treasurer.brookwood.bands.al@gmail.com. Also, please do not pay more than the specified amount.
For the final part of my message I have some unfortunate bad news. Administration for TCSS and other school systems across the state have restricted football related travel for bands. Meaning that we will not be allowed to participate in away games this year. However, we will still be allowed to play at home games, and Dr. Bray is allowing us to use the football field when the team is gone for away games. With this new accessibility, we can host concerts for parents, students, or anyone in or out of the community to come and see our band perform on an unrestricted field.
We have many ideas for events we can host there and we will update you soon. Additionally, there is still a distinct possibility of participating in competitions. Therefore, I highly encourage you to continue to participate this year!
For wind instruments, drumline, and front ensemble, we will use the bus fees to pay for additional weekly dry-cleaning and disinfection of uniforms.
For Visual ensemble, since the uniforms are yours to care for and clean, the bus fee will be removed.
